About me
I’m María Björg Ágústsdóttir. I run Multa Bene Agere, an independent consultancy. I help small businesses turn messy operations into clear, repeatable ways of working. The result is simpler workflows, clearer ownership, and routines that make follow-through easier.
I am also the founder of www.saganmin.is, a platform for personal story archiving where individuals and families can preserve and share their life and family stories in a unique way. The site makes storytelling accessible, creative, and secure for all ages.
My background spans finance, operations, and business development, including senior roles in regulated environments. I work best in environments where accuracy, documentation, and follow-through matter. I enjoy finding bottlenecks, clarifying responsibilities, and building simple structures that work in everyday operations.
When needed, I also provide translation and editing for Icelandic and English business writing. I focus on maintaining the right tone and nuance across both languages, from web content to internal reports, ensuring the final text reads naturally while staying entirely faithful to the original meaning.
Based in Iceland, working with clients locally and internationally. I take on short, focused engagements or ongoing support.

Led business development initiatives across fund operations, marketing, and alternative investments at Iceland’s largest mutual fund manager (AuM ≈ ISK 349 bn).
Coordinated operational and financial processes for a USD 49 bn bankruptcy estate, including investor relations. This role involved direct oversight of the estate’s 95% ownership in Íslandsbanki as Executive Director and Board Member of the bank’s holding vehicle.

Former national team goalkeeper in football (soccer), with professional play in Sweden’s Damallsvenskan.
Fluent in English and Icelandic. Basic Swedish. Limited reading knowledge of Danish, Norwegian and German.
